Custom Knife Factory Alexey Konygin Krokar Folding Knife 4.84″ M390 Hand Rubbed Satin Hawkbill Blade, Bronze Titanium Handles with Zirconium Lock and Clip
Custom Knife Factory might sound like an ambiguous name but it’s definitely one worth remembering. Their knives are mid-tech by definition but the quality definitely borders on full custom.
They have a CNC machine shop in China that does some of the leg work but all the hand fit and finishing is done in-house in their Moscow shop. They use top-of-the-line materials made in the USA and designs from some of the most talented knife designers in Russia.
The Krokar is one of the most attractive, unusual knives on the market and we don’t even know where to begin. This knife is an absolute statement of a knife and it’s the first time you can get one that wasn’t handmade by Alexey Konygin himself. Its menacing size and looks are complemented by superb ergonomics in both the forward and reverse grips and hidden premium materials that you wouldn’t even know about if we didn’t tell you.
The impressive Krokar features a whopping 4.84″ hawkbill blade with a hand rubbed satin finish and dual ambidextrous thumb studs. The opening action is quite stiff though, as to be expected on a lockback design, and location of the thumb studs leads us to believe that this knife was designed to be opened with two hands. The handle is a wonder of ergonomics with grooves that promote a solid, non-slip grip and it’s just as comfortable when reversed.
The blade is unlocked by depressing on the back end near the butt of the knife and the locking mechanism is actually made from zirconium; an excellent hidden touch, as is the zirconium pocket clip. You will definitely make a statement when you pull the Krokar out of your pocket; available in bronze anodized titanium or carbon fiber. Proudly made in Russia.
